Design a clock that speaks market time

The Trading Clock begins as a separate product hypothesis: current phase, one dominant next event, proximity, and justified urgency.

Trading ClockNOW/NEXTProduct designXENEON

A conventional clock tells the trader what time it is. The new Trading Clock concept asks a more useful question: what does this moment mean inside the trading day?

Preserve the known-good Candle baseline

The semantic price-rail build was recorded as the current checkpoint after tests, a Release build, live-data smoke testing, multiday VWAP comparison, and visual review.

Build a separate Trading Clock first

The first Clock brief deliberately keeps the experiment outside the Candle renderer so it can be evaluated independently on the XENEON.

Translate time into market meaning

The minimum concept combines the current trading phase, one dominant next event, time remaining, and a brief urgent state when immediate preparation is required.

WHAT WE LEARNED

Turn wall time into session context.

  • The useful unit is not a timestamp by itself.
  • The smaller design should win when it communicates phase, next event, and urgency clearly.
NEXT

Prove the smallest useful Clock.

  1. Prototype the Clock independently.
  2. Resolve authoritative definitions for each milestone.
  3. Test whether fewer visual elements communicate the same meaning.
